Ms. Rena Purnama Sari is currently the Patent Team Leader at Januar Jahja and Partners, overseeing all aspects of the firm’s thriving patent practice. She has more than a decade of expertise in patent prosecution and intellectual property management. Over the course of her career, Ms. Rena has successfully handled thousands of patent applications from initial filing through to grant, navigating the complexities of the Indonesian patent system with precision and dedication.

Ms. Rena’s technical expertise and experience spans a wide range of patent fields, including chemistry, pharmaceuticals, electrical engineering, mechanics, and biology. She also has experience assisting clients with patent searches, patentability assessments, and Freedom-to-Operate (FTO) opinions. In addition to her patent work, Ms. Rena is also experienced in handling Plant Variety Protection (PVP) applications in Indonesia.

Prior to joining Januar Jahja and Partners, Ms. Rena spent 12 years at another prominent IP law firm in Indonesia, where she developed her skills in patent filing, substantive examination, and portfolio management.

Outside of her professional work, Ms. Rena has a passion for hydroponic gardening, where she grows and harvests fresh vegetables for her family. She also enjoys handcrafting accessories, particularly beaded jewellery, as a creative outlet and a way to unwind from her busy professional schedule.
