Alif is currently an associate in the Trademark Team at Januar Jahja and Partners. His practice focuses on contentious and non-contentious cases, and he currently oversees all substantive prosecution work related to office actions, objections, appeals, and oppositions.

In almost 5 years at JJP, Alif has represented a wide range of clients, from automotive manufacturers and entertainment companies to food and beverage companies, in all aspects of trademark law, including trademark prosecution, responses to preliminary rejections, rebuttals, and appeals, as well as contentious matters such as trademark oppositions, and IP transactions. Furthermore, Alif also handled a domain name dispute for one of the biggest IT Companies based in China and succeeded in transferring the domain to them. In addition to his trademark expertise, Alif also assists clients with copyright matters such as copyright recordal and licensing agreements. As a licensed Advocate, he also has assisted with several litigation proceedings such as trademark cancellation actions, appeal decisions, and patent infringement litigation.

Prior to joining JJP, Alif interned in the Intellectual Property Practice Group in the Jakarta office of a prestigious full-service global law firm. During this internship, he was involved in a variety of matters, including IP enforcement related to copyright infringement and counterfeit cases, trademark prosecution, and research.

Alif holds a Bachelor’s of Law degree from Padjadjaran University in Bandung, Indonesia, where he graduated in 2017. During his undergraduate studies, he participated in the International Moot Court competition. In graduate school, he focused on economic law, which led him to specialize in intellectual property law.
